Baby Naming & Welcoming Ceremonies

Welcoming a new child is one of life’s most precious milestones. A baby naming or welcoming ceremony is a beautiful way to gather loved ones, share your joy, and mark this new chapter with heartfelt celebration.

As your celebrant

Whether held in a home, garden, venue or nature, the ceremony is crafted just for you and your child.

The inclusion of other children or wider family members is encouraged in baby welcoming/naming ceremonies where they can have an opportunity to make some promises for their new sibling. Involving your other children or other family members can help them feel connected to their new sibling, easing transitions and encouraging closeness. By recognising their importance in the family unit, you’re also creating beautiful memories and a shared experience they’ll cherish for years to come.

Common elements may include:

  •   Your journey as parents and your hopes for your child.
  • The meaning and story behind your baby’s name.
  • Family unity rituals (tree planting, family hand-fasting, time capsules, memory boxes, circle of support, sand jar, letters, symbolic gifts, unity candles, etc.).
  • Commitments from parents, siblings, and guide parents.
  • Music, Readings, poetry, blessings, gratitude messages, tributes and personal touches.

Each ceremony is different, just like each child. Together, we’ll make this welcome one to remember.
